Mohamed Salah has been phenomenal for Liverpool as they try to wrestle the Premier League title from rivals ManchesterCity this season. He was once again on target for Liverpool during their 3-1 home win over Newcastle United. Salah was able to equal the goal contribution record set by Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy with his goal against the Magpies. Salah has now scored or assisted a goal in each of the last 15 games in the Premier League, which is a record held by Vardy. Salah can break the record if he scores or assists a goal when Liverpool take on hosts Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in what would be their first Premier League clash of this season.

Egyptian international Salah has been able to stretch his lead at the top of the Premier League scoring charts with his goal against struggling Newcastle United taking his tally to 16 goals and sevenĀ  more goals than Vardy who’s the nearest challenger for Salah in the race for the Golden Boot this season. Vardy didn’t have the opportunity to add to his tally of nine goals after the game between his Leicester City side and Tottenham Hotspur was postponed. Hosts Leicester City asked the game initially billed for Thursday to be scheduled and their request was approved.

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is also in the Golden Boot picture with seven goals to his name. Cristiano Ronaldo took his Premier League tally to seven goals when he scored the only goal in the second half to give Manchester United a 1-0 away win over Norwich City, the last team on the league table.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Manchester United teammates have had to deal with a Coronavirus outbreak in the past week and that prompted the postponement of their two Premier League games against Brentford (away) and Brighton & Hove Albion (home).
